Ray Singh Castaneda is one of 14 siblings from hard working Mexican and Punjab parents. Mr. Castaneda grew up farming watermelons in Bakersfield, CA where he learned valuable lessons in life from teamwork, generosity and austerity. His high school track coach encouraged him to go on to college and was granted a scholarship to Kansas State, however ended up staying close by and running track at the local college to appease his parents. He later received a degree from San Jose State University with a minor in Spanish and Mexican American studies.
Ray is passionate about empowering the economic and social advancement of low-to moderate-income Latinos and other undeserved communities. As the Board Chair for Sabor del Valle for the past 7 years, Mr. Castaneda brings together culturally diverse vintners and restaurants to support nonprofit organizations making a difference in our community and beyond. Sabor del Valle's top beneficiary is the José Valdés Math Institute, led by Harvard graduate and Academic Executive Rosalie Ledesma. For the last 25 years, thousands of students from overwhelmed schools and underprivileged neighborhoods are provided a comprehensive math education.

With 25 years sales experience, several years in teaching, deep and vast connections, Mr. Castaneda is currently a business development consultant in Silicon Valley. He equips entrepreneurs and business owners with the network necessary to strengthen a business and provide a competitive advantage.
Mr. Castaneda is proud to live in the heart of Silicon Valley in San Jose with his lovely wife of 44 years. He and Janet raised 4 brilliant children: 2 teachers, 1 Oracle manager and a Youth Pastor in Los Gatos.
