Known for her vampire roles, Ruby Gonzalez is a Mexican-American actress that has appeared in numerous independent films. Her first major role was as Amy, the virgin turned lesbian vampire, in the independent film Night Fangs (2005) by

director Ricardo Islas. She’s also appeared in the independent dramas as Amina, the loveable salesgirl in I Used to Love Her (2008) by BET recognized director Mark Harris and as Maria, the fresh-out-of-college social worker in the TV Pilot Donna Ray (2013) by Hollywood director Omar McClinton. You can catch her in the Spring 2015 release of Jezebeth 2: Hour of the Gun, a Vampire Western by director Damien Dante where she will reprise her role as a vampire, playing Ringo Rios, a vampire from the past and a shotgun! Among other independent films to be filmed later this year, she’s already cast and set to co-star in Jezebeth 3: The Guns of El Diablo, as Cyanide. Yes, you guessed it, another vampire role!

Ruby Gonzalez is definitely a Latina to watch out for as she’s working on achieving her long-lived dream of making the “A” list in Hollywood and collaborating with other Latinos in the industry. She’s not looking for fame but rather the opportunity to help create and bring to life stories that are us in everyday life, not stereotypes. But if somehow fame does come along for this Vampire Queen, she wants to use it to simply be a positive role model for others, especially young Latinas.
