This drink is the National drink of Brazil, it's simple and classic. Lime, sugar, ice and the spirit Cachaça.
Cachaça is a distilled spirit made from sugarcane juice. Also known as aguardente, pinga de tuto, caninha or other names, it is the most popular distilled alcoholic beverage in Brazil. Outside Brazil, cachaça is used almost exclusively as an ingredient in tropical drinks, with the caipirinha being the most famous cocktail.
Here you go, make it, enjoy it and your welcome!
* Half a lime, cut into wedges
* 2 tsp Sugar (or 1 oz simple syrup)
* 2 oz Cachaça
* Garnish: Lime wheel (optional)
* Glass: Double Old Fashioned
In a double Old Fashioned glass, muddle the sugar and lime. Fill with ice and add the cachaça. Stir briefly and garnish with a lime wheel if desired.
