What a pleasant surprise to find such a gem in your very own backyard.

I mean I would literally drive by the place on a daily basis, two times a day, for almost two years on my way to and from work.

The day I finally came in for a tasting I was anxious, early and the first one there. I was greeted by a gentleman behind the bar still in his work clothes and work boots. He quickly said hi and asked me if I was ready for some wine. The tasting room was small, cozy and very inviting. I felt at home and replied, “Yes . . . yes I am ready indeed.”

After I formally introduced myself, ML and the idea of running a Latino Winemakers Series, I realized who I was tasting wine with. Mr. Ramon Rios himself. I stood there sipping wine after next listening to his stories of the history of his family of winemakers to the eventual creation of the Ramon Rios Brand. I quickly made a new friend.

I have been back many times since and have also introduced the Rios family to the Rodriguez Family (Mi Casa Tequila), as well to many of my own friends and family. Ramon Rios Winery is a beautiful place with nice people and great wines.

Set in the Tracy Hills Appellation is the Rios family winery established in 2006. Fine wines made and served by the owner Ramon Rios and his wife Debra. Ramon takes great pride in the wines he develops and it shows when you taste his wines. Wines include Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Tempranillo, Petite Syrah, Touriga, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Port and one of ML’s favorites “Ay Carajo”.

The warm quaint tasting room is a nice place to gather together and enjoy the fine wines.
