Giovanni started Latinos A Morir (LAM), the largest Latino Professional Network in the Bay Area, as a small dinner gathering in his home with other like minded Latinos.
LAM quickly grew into a much larger social event due to the lack of a platform existing that catered to the Professional Latino.
LAM recently celebrated its 5 year anniversary and today this exclusive membership based network has enlisted over 4,300 Latino Professionals. Giovanni and LAM have been endorsed by many Latino organizations such as; the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMA), Latino Business Professionals (LBP), Society of Hispanic and Professional Engineers (SHPE) among others.
Giovanni is originally from Guatemala City, Guatemala. He moved to Los Angeles with his family at the age of 14 and every since then he has been connecting people in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York areas. His drive for building a community came from being the oldest of 5 siblings and being surrounded by people he loves. Giovanni has traveled through 40 countries and realized that the Latino culture is everywhere.
Giovanni is a PhD candidate in robotics and control theory at UC Berkeley. His previous experience lies in marketing consulting (ZS Associates in New York) and controls theory research. He holds an MS and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley along with a Management of Technology certificate from Haas Business School.
His dream is to continue to connect people and spread this beautiful culture to everyone regardless of their racial background.
